No matter how you shape em', cook em', eat em'...there is no denying the classic goodness of this All-American fare! Back in the day these tasty meat patties were prepared without much fuss and most times without condiments. Today, the hamburger comes to us in a variety of forms; from the decadent 1/2 pounder with eggs and bacon to the rather curious veggie burger. This is my ode' to The Tastiest Hamburgers Ever. Green Valley Burger

A burger with a bite!

These burger patties are stuffed with roasted green chilies and monterey jack cheese. You probably won't need too many toppings with a burger this good!

Juicy Burger
Ingredients:
* 2 pounds lean ground beef (round or sirloin)
* 1/4 cup dark beer
* 1 fresh egg
* salt and pepper to taste
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 4 cloves garlic, minced
* 1 can chopped green chilies, drained
* 2 tablespoons flour
* 1/2 cup monterey jack cheese, shredded

Preparation:
Combine ground beef, beer, egg, salt and pepper and form into 8 patties 1/4 - 3/8" thick.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over a very low heat, stir in flour and cook, stirring constantly, until light brown, being careful not to let it burn. Add garlic and green chilies and continue to cook until heated through, again, do not burn.

Divide mixture between 4 patties and spread to approximately 1/2" from edge. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons monterey jack cheese on top of mixture. Top with another patty and seal the edges tightly.

Grill to desired doneness and serve on sesame seed buns.

Although I have never tried buffalo, not to my knowledge anyway, it is described as beef-like with a little sweetness. Hmm, sounds good to me.

Greek Burger
We love the mix of lamb, olives and feta! The taste of this burger offers sweet and savory which packs a powerful punch. Try this burger in mini pita pockets and you've got a perfect addition to your appetizer table for the holidays and special celebrations!
Sage and Onion Turkey Burger
I am very fond of using ground turkey as an alternative to chopped meat. While I have not tried this recipe, the mix of ingredients, along with the special cranberry orange ketchup sounds delicious.
Sweet Potato Salad
This recipe is a real hit! Make sure to cook your sweet potatoes less then you do the red potatoes. My first batch ended up with the sweet potatoes a little soft, we still enjoyed it!

Whole Wheat Hamburger Bun

Enjoy every last bite

Homemade hamburger bunsI am so excited to bring this recipe to my lens! In our financially leaner days we made bread almost every night. It helped us pinch pennies, connected us as a couple, and became our creative outlet. Our breads were beautiful braids made with love! It's magical how life comes full circle, now we are back to the basics...a little out of necessity and a lot because we appreciate knowing what we are eating. We hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we are!

On a floured board, roll the dough out until it is about 3/4-inch thick. cut circles of dough about 4-inch in diameter with a cutter (or use a large empty can that you have washed out).

Place the buns on a cookie sheet, brush the tops with melted butter, and allow to raise for 30 minutes. Bake at 425F for 10 minutes or until golden brown. YIELD: 10 buns

I can't wait until it gets warmer and I can start grilling again. You've given me a few ideas for my next burger! Once in a while I'll get bison meat instead of ground beef, it's pretty tasty. Nice job on this "ever" lens!
